Forest’ life – “farewell workshop”, February 2013
Last workshop within the program “Forests for all, all for forests” was devoted to the life in forest and gathered 15 participants. They met on Saturday mornings at ARTEFACT Gallery and under the eye of Piotr Łukasiewicz created their own piece of art inspired by forest, its inhabitants and rhythm of seasons.
The outstanding results of workshop were presented in the Public Library in Otrębusy, on 9th of March. We combined this event with “After-Lithuania” meeting so a lot of people come to admire paintings and tasted Lithuania food, surrounded by “Forest paintings”. It is a pity that the program is on its finish!

Christmas is coming – traditional time of cleaning our houses, making ginger cakes and creating Christmas toys to make our homes very special and unique. We met in December 2012 in the Center of Culture in Podkowa Leśna and in the Library in Otrębusy to make the beautiful toys from natural materials under the supervision of Maja Piotrowska-Tryzno, the artist  and Ewa Gołębiewska, the florist.   Happy Christmas!

The excursion to the Kampinoski National Park.
In October 28 th, 2012 we visited the Kampinoski National Park, about 40 km from Podkowa Leśna.
We attended the workshop “The layers of the forest” held by the forester and educator Mariusz Morkowski. He patiently explained us the complexity of forest ecosystem, taught us to recognize forest  species and the voices of birds.
Although it was the first snow day in Poland,  learners of Senior University and members of our Assoccation did not bother and actively took part in the excursion. We finished seating at the fire and eating sausages as the forest is also a perfect place to rest  and socialize.

Polish flowers (workshop)
During hot summer days a group of amateur artists from Podkowa Leśna and suroundings was meeting regularly in the hospitable ARTEFACT GALLERY to create miraculous gardens on canvas using oil colours and imagination. "Polish Flowers" workshop brought so colourful, optimistic and energetic results!

We will look at the paintings during grey, rainy autumn days - it should help us to avoid depression!

HEALTH FROM NATURE”
“In June 2012, a workshop with civic participation was held in Mersin as part of the project “Forests for all, all for forests.” The chairman of the Eshab-ı Kehf Development, Solidarity and Beautification Association, Hüsnü KARABULUT, members and the villagers gathered the Kantoron Otu (Hypericum perforatum) from the villages on the Taurus Mountains and they extracted its oil and they mixed it with pure olive oil. Then they put the mixture into the glass jars. The jars will wait for 90 days in the sun and a miraculous healing oil will be ready for lots of health problems from depression to stomach ache. After the process, they got a healing medicine oil.
The group prepared this miraculous oil for each of the partner countries. These oils will be given to them in Romania mobiltiy.”

In October amateur artists from Podkowa Leśna and Brwinów took part in the workshop organized by Artefact Art Gallery. The Haiku contest was held at our Centre  in October . Students inspired by the beauty of the Lithuanian nature expressed its surroundings in poetry. Each word used by students is very important and truthful  as Vilnius is surrounded by numerous parks and forests.
